7.13.11

Here's the last of the photos I had edited on my days off.  I was going to post them one a day... but I have a few drawings to do before heading back out to Chicago next week.... so I'll just post 'em all now-

Naissa's sweet peas
Neal's Mask (fresh colour)

Carmen's back... finally done touch ups, repacking color etc...
 Morgan's finger

7.9.12

Healed photos of Jackie's first tattoo.

5.22.12

I've been outlining a ton, which is good because that means I've been drawing a ton.  I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I don't like posting just the outline session of client's tattoos, so that's my reasoning for this post being a bit lighter on photos.... excuses...  But a lot of outlines usually means a lot of colour in the not to distant future, hopefully. Here's May so far.

4.16.12

I was meaning to update this thing last week, but obviously didn't get around to it.  Here's a sample of what I've been working on the past 2 weeks.

2.11.12

Pretty fun day at the shop today

11.2.11

I keep saying I love tattooing flowers and birds... and people keep asking for flowers and birds.  Keep 'em coming!

10.9.11

Josh and Kathy are in town for a couple days.  Finished most of the background on his arm today.  One more session to go...
Added bonus was getting healed pictures of Kathy's flowers.

8.26.11

Finished Kalika's flowers and hummingbirds today.  Pretty damn awesome.   She sits like a champ and today was no exception.  By coming in regularly and doing longer sittings, we got this done in no time, perfect client!  I should have healed photos of the whole thing in about a month.

8.7.11

This week was almost a complete write off as far as I'm concerned... So many cancellations/ no shows.  Murphy's Law in full effect,  whenever your about to make a large purchase... the week prior will always be full of people not making their appointments.  Oh well...

The few tattoos I did do were really fun, and today was no exception.  Coloured Cara's flowers for a couple hours today to end my "work week".  Red pansy on the elbow was fun for me, probably not so much for Cara.

7.22.11

I'm extremely tired and need to be up early tomorrow so let's make this fast....

Morning appointment was working on Marcie's back, colouring sweet peas,  the big green leaves/ lily pads and the water.  Super fun and the coverup is done!
Second appointment was a touch up on a roofer, so it's absolutely pointless taking any photos of his arm right now considering how dark he is.  But this fun new piece of equipment was delivered to me this afternoon.

7.17.11

So... my memory card is missing... I'll work on that tomorrow... the good thing is there are no "portfolio" photos on it, just a bunch of blog photos which have already been posted.  So today's photos are courtesy of Teagan's point and shoot.

It was my Friday at the studio and what a great Friday it was!  All nature stuff, all day!  Flowers, and birds, and purple background windy stuff, and leaves... so awesome.

Tattooed my buddy Steve for the first appointment of the day.  Finished all of the background and branches/ pine cones.  Just one bird left and then a bit of add on up top in the empty space.  I didn't tattoo the bass player, and I'm to lazy to blur it out tonight....
Then, Steve wanted to get his lower toes tattooed.  No problem.  I love doing fun impromptu tattoos!  I'd be impressed if someone knew what he got, and yes, using Google search is cheating.   If you know, and aren't a cheater, leave a comment.
Second appointment was Tracey's "cover up".  Cover ups work best when the new tattoo is larger than the area that needs to be covered... I'd say we got it.  Big tattoo, and she sat like a champ, so I was able to fly through the outline faster then I expected we would.   Super awesome when someone sits like a rock while getting this area tattooed.  Nice work Tracey!

7.8.11

Remembered the memory card today, so here's yesterday's doings.  This is Samantha's first tattoo.   Pretty epic, both in size and subject matter.  Peonies and a junebug, so awesome.  She wasn't super happy towards the end, so I just grey lined most of the bug.  We'll go back and reline those areas next time.
Today, finished the "first pass" of Amy's deer.  We'll go back and do touch ups in about a month or so.  I'm thinking I'll also add a drop shadow under the finger waves so they pop a bit more.  Always a crazy day when you finish a big tattoo... I can tell you that Amy sure was happy!  Finishing your backpiece is definitely a major accomplishment.
Second appointment today was shading out the background of Morgan's 1/2 sleeve.   Super fun shading out clouds and wind bars.  Excited to work on this again in a few weeks.

7.3.11

Half day today, my first appointment canceled so I got Cara to come in for the morning appointment.  She happily agreed a few days prior to the appointment, but may have wanted to change her mind by this morning... I will always let the client learn for themselves why it is a bad idea to come in to get tattooed after a night of drinking...  Once you've tried it once, it's extremely unlikely you'll do it again...Despite the bleeding, we still managed to get a couple hours done.  Coloured a flower, ladybug, and background.

6.23.11

I'm back and survived my solo camping expedition.  I have a bunch of photos to go through and edit... just not tonight.  I'll get to editing them and put together a decent post about my first experience camping alone... Solo camping... pretty intense... super fun.

Back at work today, first appointment canceled which sucks because it was a touch up/photo appointment.  I really wanted to get healed photos of Peter's arm.

Second appointment was colouring a bit of grassy green background and some fun pink flowers on a 1/2 sleeve.  Fun stuff!  Pink flowers!

6.19.11

Another fun tattoo for me today, not so fun for the client.  Shauna came in today for her first tattoo... pretty impressive.  We easily got the outline done in about an hour, and felt good enough to go on with a bit of colour.  I hope I sit that well when get my ribs tattooed....
I'll be absent from the blog for the next 2 nights.  I'm heading out the the beautiful Rocky Mountains for a bit of solo camping.  There's no internet, cell phone signal, power, etc.... It will be a nice break from the digital world.  I'll be back Wednesday.  See you then!

6.16.11

Back to work at the studio today.  First appointment was working on Lindsay's green tara.  Unfortunately the photos had way to much flash burn to post.  I actually knew this while I was taking the photos...  I tried multiple times on multiple settings, but couldn't get a clear photo...

Second appointment was working on Kalika's humming birds and flowers.  Finished up most of the blue background, thickened up a few lines, and started colouring the centers of the hibiscus.

6.4.11

I have to work on a few drawings tonight, so no time for chit chat.  Down to buisness-

Blake's underwater sleeve to start the day. Background blue all morning

Second appointment was colouring a couple of Cara's flowers.  These were super fun and Cara is super awesome.

5.19.11

Short day at the shop today.  My second appointment was a touch up that didn't need touch ups... he just wants to add on to his tattoo in the near future.  So that meant I only had a quick morning appointment.  I worked on this piece for a few hours and called it a day.  I guess I should have waited for the lotus to stop weeping before taking the photo...

5.14.11

More outlines today.  Yesterday was birds, today FLOWERS!!!!  Maybe my blog post have more impact than I realized.... because I do love tattooing birds and flowers!!!

Outlined the bottom half of Cara's 3/4 sleeve today. We tattooed the top half at least 3 if not 4 years ago.  Cara's awesome so it was really fun to work with her again.

4.19.11

Finished my taxes last night, even thought it took all night... Glade that's over for another year...

Here's Marcie's back that I outlined yesterday.  Birds and flowers, love it.  Again, more of this please.  Much more... I could be happy tattooing birds, flowers, and small nature scenes everyday.
