7.4.12

So I finally remembered to check out the Blogger app posts on my desktop computer.... what an absolute embarrassment.... those photos looked horrible compared to what I'm used to.  Not sure if it's the application, or the photo editing app I used on the iPhone... either way, those post are gone.

I've got a ton of photos to upload, but for now let's just start by righting the wrongs-

5.1.12

It's been a while.. again... but that means I have a lot to upload, again.  I was out in Vancouver last week working, but didn't get to post a few tattoos I started before the trip

Like Jillian's Owl and Roses
and Cam's 1/2 sleeve
Monday flew out to Vancouver, my wife's awesome!
Straight to work with Chad and Dax at SETCo

 Good new beer
Day 2- Tattooing Ted's sleeve.  I like green.
I've been looking for Pyramid beer for an extremely long time.
I tattooed Lindsay on Wednesday but none of the photos turned out... they're all out of focus for whatever reason, or way too dark...

Chad and Dax, new signs-
I only worked a 1/2 day so got a chance to walk around.  Love at First Bite is gone?
 Wife presents
Fourth day I tattooed this extremely fun octopus on my friend Geza's foot.  Challenging getting an octopus on a foot...  The last trip I tattooed the shark, excited to get healed photos of them together.
Last day of the trip was lucky enough to be asked to tattoo another tattooist's knuckles.  Jessica and Trent are awesome and she made my life easy tattooing a tricky spot.

4.16.12

I was meaning to update this thing last week, but obviously didn't get around to it.  Here's a sample of what I've been working on the past 2 weeks.

7.31.11

...Rhys came down to the studio today to get one big owl's head on his ribs.... and that's what he had a few hours later...

7.9.11

Finished up TWO more tattoos today!  That's super awesome!

First appointment was touching up and adding the bells and whistles to Nick's stomach.  It's such a good feeling to put the final touches on such a big tattoo.  Nick is AWESOME at getting tattooed, so I had the confidence to go in and smooth everything out that needed it, as well as add some fun details.  Thanks a bunch Nick, you're a champ!

Second appointment was finishing Kayla's owl.  She needed to be done within 3 hours so she could head off to work after... NO PROBLEM.  Really happy with how this turned out, especially considering we had no set ideas on colour.  I really love it when it all comes together and you make those decisions at the last second with the client.  Super fun.  She'll be back in about a month for touch ups and healed photos.

And on a sad note, it was Simon's last day with us at the studio.  He's off to Calgary to work with the boys at Deadly Tattoos for a few days.  It's always fun having Simon out, but the time seems to go way to fast.  Thanks again for the visit Simon, we'll miss you!

6.12.11

So I got to tattoo this fun owl with roses on Kayla today.  Tattooing went awesome...  which is good because there were a myriad of small accidents through out the day.

To start the day, I accidentally sprayed myself in the eye with 99% isopropyl alcohol,  THEN my stencil basically wiped off with in 2 seconds of starting,  THEN I accidentally spilled my wash cup all over my counter top and floor, and THEN my client spilled the better part of a large bottle of Grape Gatorade on herself....  just one of those days I guess...

...again, I'm so happy the tattoo turned out amazing after all of that non sense.  Ollie tattooed the rose above her elbow last year.

5.27.11

I had a client have to rebook their appointment for today about a week ago, so we penciled Teagan in to get a one shot tattoo on her inner arm that I drew for her... well... I can't even remember when I did the drawing....  it was a while ago...  So today I had the morning free to work on a few paintings, make a line copy, and then picked her up from school and headed over to the studio.

I get super nervous now when I have to tattoo my wife...  I don't know why... well, that's a lie.  I know exactly why... I obviously want it to be really good.  Not that I don't want every tattoo to be really good... but you understand... it's my wife.... I'll be seeing it quite a bit.

I couldn't decide on colours, so I'm glade Teagan stepped in and picked purple and pink.  I'm really happy with her colour choices.  I had never considered a purple owl, but  I love purple, and I've never tattooed a purple owl before!

Again, this tattoo was drawn for my wife specifically...

Please do not steal this tattoo...

If you are a tattoo collector, please do not print this off and take it to a tattooist to have them tattoo it on you...

If you are a tattooist, please do not trace this and put it one someone else....

...I'd be really upset if I saw this tattoo on someone else....
