Day 5.  I tattooed Tracy who drove down from Vancouver this morning.
And this evening I did a small cover up on Jenn's foot.... which I've been trying to upload for 30 minutes...  I don't know if it's blogger or the hotel's internet connection, so I guess I'll try again tomorrow from home...  I'm tired..11 hour drive tomorrow...

4.3.11

Penticton, Day  4.  I tattooed Corals feet today... both of them.  I have my feet tattooed, I could not imagine getting both done in one day.  She sat like a champ.  I did the roses, I did not tattoo the script.
After tattooing, we went for Mexican food across from the Beach.  Duncan and Coral were tired.

4.2.11

Penticton, day three.  Really fun day.  First I worked on Kathy and finished her flowers that we started over Christmas.  It's the only tattoo I was able to get a semi good photo of.
Then this afternoon I added  the top to my friend Duncan's half sleeve, followed by an evening appointment where I got to tattoo a fun smaller traditional piece on Jessy, who owns Sun City Tattoos here in Penticton.  I know I'll see Duncan tomorrow as I'll be tattooing his girlfriend Coral's feet, and hope to see Jessy tomorrow and get better photos of both.

4.1.11

Second day in Penticton.  I worked on Teagan's brother Josh all day today.  Pretty solid session, especially considering we tattooed his ditch and elbow most of the day.  I didn't even bother trying to take photos of the tattoo.  Then Josh, his wife Kathy, and Kai went out to dinner, and back to the hotel for beer and hot tub.  You can kind of see his bandaged and swollen arm in the photo below.

My firend Duncan and his girlfriend Coral drove down from Vancouver tonight, so we'll have a bit of a crew at breakfast tomorrow.

3.30.11

Yesterday I made a quick stop to the Yellowhead Brewery to grab a few bottles for my trip.  Beer so fresh, it has to be labeled for me.  Excellent.
The labels were accidentally printed without the alcohol content, so the get upside down stickers
A few things you may see if you make the 11.5 hour drive from Edmonton to Penticton via Calgary, Banff, Golden, Revelstoke

3.26.11

Three more days until I hit the road to replenish our wine cellar... or I guess more accurately, our wine crawl space... Either way I'll be leaving this Wednesday and working in Penticton March 31 to April 4th.  I still have a few openings for smaller, fun tattoos.  Get in touch if you're interested.

... just keeping this at the top of the blog for now, new posts below....

I finally won a copy of Volume 1 a few weeks ago and it arrived today, completing my collection. Super happy to have all 3 finally!Travel news- I'll be tattooing in Penticton March 31 to April 4th. Space is super limited and about 1/2 the appointments available are already spoken for. If you live in the beautiful Okanagan Valley and are interested in getting tattooed, please email me at shawn@shawnoconnor.ca to set something up.Last order of business- If you're looking to get a copy of the Amsterdam Shark print, you'd be advised to do so fairly soon. As of today, just over 1/2 of them are gone. You can buy your very own copy at the webstore.

Well... here's 1/2 of what I promised yesterday.... Photos from our almost 2 days in Penticton. I did tattoo today and I do have photos, however, those are on my memory card, and I don't feel like editing them tonight. The Penticton photos are already on our hard drive, so here we go-

First stop Sunday night upon arrival, beer at the Kettle Valley Station PubGood food, great beer.
You will however notice that we are drinking pints of beer. I must express my extreme displeasure with the fact that our waitress FAILED to inform us that the 2.5 L tower of beer was $5 off on Sundays. That make it $20 for 2.5L of beer.... so if you go to the Kettle Valley Station Pub on Sunday with $80, that will buy you 10L of beer. wow...

We usually stay at the Best Western...mainly for the free continental breakfast... featuring make-your-own-waffles.
Teagan decided to hit up the kids slide after waffles...
Then it's off to replenish our wine supply. First stop, our favorite- Dirty Laundry Vineyards.
That's not a full case of wine Teagan's carrying.... yet.... but it will be by the end of the day...
Second, my favorite place for red wine- Blasted Church Vineyards. That IS a full case of Cab Merlot.
Lunch beer.
More lunch beer.
Followed by ice cream on Skaha Lake.
Then off to Salty's Beach House for dinner....
...and more beer...
Then a walk along Lake Okanagan, with a mandatory stop for photos at the giant peach.

I don't know why, but my FAVORITE graffiti is always "weed" related graffiti. Makes me laugh every time, and you can pretty much find it ANYWHERE if you're looking. I'll make a post one day of all the "weed" related graffiti I've collected on my iPhone... 4:20 man...
I have a special place 1/2 way between Penticton and OK falls that I love to watch the sunset. iPhones really don't do a good job capturing how epic sunsets can be.
Oh the Valley Star... I love this sign and felt that it needed to be documented, as one day it will probably be gone... replaced by some crappy new ultra modern condo.... They don't make signs like this one anymore...
Tattoo photos tomorrow...
